Chaohu City is located in the central part of Anhui province, adjacent to Hefei to the west. The site is located at Lakeside Business and Leisure Public Sub-center, Chaohu. With Guishan Mount in the east, Zhonghan Town in the west and the multiple track of South China Railway in the north, it has a site area of 14.63 square kilometres.
This plan proposed the status of Chaohu in the national and regional development strategies into consideration. With the detail reserch of Chaohu in the regional economy such as Hefei, Nanjing, Maanshan and the centralised district of north Yangtze River, the aim proposed for Lakeside New District and its central area, as the overall concept as ‘Centre of Hefei and Wuhu-the leisure valley in Anhui, the vital bay in Chaohu’. The plan resented ‘4E City’ concept with economic integrating, social, spatial and environmental dimensions. The land in the surrounding area will be fully coordinated and integrated. Pertinent and practical implementation measures are recommended including the functions of import, traffic organization, ecological safety, landscape system, public facilities, displacement and resettlement, phasing strategy and guidance for leisure industries.
